There has been a water pipe burst at Washington or King Langalibalele drive opposite the clinic which has caused water outages in our homes yesterday and today.
A City of Cape Town employee said there could be a number of reasons for the bursting of the pipe, with one of the reasons being that the pipe could be old or that the pipe was to close to a tree which had long roots. The roots could have grown and went through the pipes which caused the pipe to burst.
The City of Cape Town employees have spent hours trying to fix the pipe. They were able to take out the broken pipe and the only thing left according to them is to put the new pipe. They estimate that it might take another two or three hours to fix the pipe but by the end of this day everyone should have running water in their homes.
